In Good Hands

Description

Throughout human history, death has mystified and obsessed us. We fear it, worship it, and go to great lengths to ignore and avoid it. Though the only certainty of life is that we are all going to die, the truth about what death actually is still eludes most of us. Perhaps those most capable of understanding what death is are the ill and the elderly.
The films we have selected here highlight how death is ‘lived’ and experienced in care homes and hospitals. How do caregivers and caretakers attempt to negotiate death, while knowing that the inevitable truth of death may soon be knocking on the door?
