Description
Through different languages and media, we learn how to communicate between cultures that coexist on the same blue planet – this global village of ours. This can be challenging, especially in the presence of pulling forces and struggles between nations. Though the irony is lost on our characters, we can understand these miscommunications, and both their tragic and hilarious consequences, comfortably as spectators.
In this session, all the characters of the films lose themselves in translation, while trying to reach out across the sea to greener pastures. Stories, telephone calls, letters and body language allow us to exchange experiences amongst people from all walks of life.
Communicating with the Other can spark inspiration, make us laugh, devastate us, or even bring us to the brink of madness.
