The city looks upon itself in space; the city feels; the city breathes in the extension of time. The place becomes omniscient. Its connection of mutual tension with human power emphasizes the borders of a controlled nature.
André Sarmento was born in Cascais, Portugal in 1990. He is currently reading for a PhD in Communication Sciences, specializing in Film, at the New University of Lisbon. He holds a Master’s degree in the same field from the ISCTE and he graduated in Cultural Sciences from the School of Arts and Humanities at the University of Lisbon. In 2018 he directed his first film, Civitas.
