A young woman tries to reconstruct the trip of her friend gone to Brazil for the Football World Cup. While she has no news of him, she relies on the images he sent him to find his trace.
Alan Durand, a graduate of the Paris 3 Sorbonne Nouvelle University, has written a dissertation on aesthetic analysis of the televisual device of football matches. During his research, he became passionate about the collective immagination around modern football. He shot the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, in the heart of the crowd and at the foot of giant screens, and completed in 2017 a short film of 24 minutes. Brésil_14 weaves a tangible link between the memories of an enigmatic character, and the collective memory of an entire country.
