Today an american women wears her weapon with style. Schooling programs shows her how to handle it. We hear a voice giving instructions to other females. And then there is luckily the right „to keep and bear arms” for every individual citizen of the United States. The use of weapons is an act which is transformed into a status of being. Being powerful, being able, being equal of worth, being independent, being sexy. While the connection between body and weapon disappears further more, we learned to ignore what a violent picture it creates.
Lucie Friederike Mueller lives and works in Leipzig. She studied Fine Arts and Virtual Reality Bjørn Melhus at Kunsthochschule Kassel and is currently studying Kunst und Medien with Constanze Ruhm at the Akademie der bildenden Künste in Vienna. Her art practice spans between experimental films and expanded media, electroacustic compositions and sound preformances.
